About Myanmar Mandalay

An origin we've not yet roasted at Mocha Mondo, Myanmar Mandalay is a bold, rich coffee grown on the slopes of the Shan Plateau in Pyin Oo Lwin, a scenic hill town known for its botanical gardens and examples of colonial architecture. Sourced from the lush Green Land Coffee Plantation, this coffee reflects the dedication of U Sai Wan Maing and his team, whose vision turned a small 30-acre plot into one of Myanmar’s largest and most innovative coffee farms.

Fun fact - Shade trees are often grown to protect the coffee plants from the sun, one of the shade tree species grown at Green Land Coffee Plantation is macadamia, which also produces a valuable crop, more valuable than coffee in fact!

Crafted from two varietals of Arabica, these beans are hand-picked, sun-dried, and expertly milled before journeying to our roastery in Amble, Northumberland where we roast them dark to unlock an indulgent flavour profile.

We roast this coffee to-order in small batches from our Northumberland based roastery to ensure optimum freshness and flavour by the time it makes it into your mug.

    Absolutely exquisite coffee!!

I was gifted a bag of Mayanmar Mandalay in a fine grind which I found to be absolutely delicious with definite dark chocolate notes. I have just ordered some beans of the same variety to try in my Gaggia Brera and I'm sure it will taste as good, if not better than the ground version. Here's looking forward to my first Myanmar Mandalay bean to cup coffee!!

    Hi Dave

Thank you so much for your review, and for becoming a new customer! We think the Myanmar Mandalay is a great coffee too!

As a natural processed bean and also a dark roast, it should be superb in your Brera with its versatility.

Have fun trying the different grind weights and number of shots. Please let us know the best combination for you. Thanks again,

From Martin and the MM team.
