About Earl Grey- Bari Tea Brewery
Earl Grey tea was specially blended by a Chinese mandarin for Charles, 2nd Earl Grey of Howick in Northumberland. It was created to suit the water from the well at Howick, using bergamot in particular to offset the taste of the lime in it. Lady Grey used it in London when entertaining and as a result it proved so popular that she was asked if it could be sold to others!
This is an authentic Earl Grey tea, with bright and coppery notes and a distinctive and powerful bergamot aroma.
Blended at the Bari Tea Brewery in Amble-by-the-Sea.
Bari [“baa-ree“] is lovely in Northumberland.
